Slanted and enchanted, de Pavement, coronado como mejor álbum indie del año

La revista Blender publicó en su número de este mes una lista en la que figuran los a su juicio 100 mejores discos de rock independiente de la historia. En ella, Pavement alcanza la cima con su album Slanted and Enchanted por delante de otros grupos del momento como Sonic Youth y su album Daydream Nation, o The Replacements con Let It Be.

Pavement, banda californiana de rock alternativo nacida en los años 90, publicó una constante cadena de álbumes desde su formación hasta su desaparición en 1999. El coronado como mejor álbum indie del año fue precisamente con el que se hicieron conocer internacionalmente. Recientemente, han anunciado además su sorprendente participación en el festival Primavera Sound de Barcelona de este verano.

Y lo cierto es que pese a que el indie-rock tan sólo haya soplado las velas de su veinticinco cumpleaños, la gran mayoría de los discos del listado son muy recientes. Incluso hay dos, los de Feist y Animal Collective, que se publicaron en 2009.

Otra vez los blog vuelven a ser la manera de descubrir grupos de este estilo para un público desencantado con la música que vende, y le hacen escuchar. Y es que el factor comercial no es algo que precisamente tiendan a explotar las bandas cuyo listado a continuación exponemos:
